After taking this course, my thoughts on humanism, science and technology has changed. I started to focuses on the development of new thinking in complexity and on the tools needed for this new thinking. I see the world in a different way. One can learn to think in complexity about the real complexity of a nonlinear complex reality. I learn that both connect in its own way. I used to view these topics in a passive way, not believing that they have a large influence in our lives but they do.  Science has a big impact on our lives. So many achievements we have received because of science. The World’s Fair was one of the best idea that scientist ever had. WE could look in to the future. Technology also had a big impact on me. In with the new out with the old. I never knew the damages that Ewaste has caused. The atomic bomb was also a bad part of science. Science has there up and downs. Humanism is the best way to balance it. Humanist goes around helping scientist to understanding the world. It show whether is right to kill or hurt someone for their achievements.  It helps them understand what is right and what is wrong. Scientist believes to have no mortal rights. Now that I learned more about each area, I feel comfortable enough to say that I am either a humanist or a scientist. I am a combination of the two. Combining them can help you balance your thoughts.

One Scientist I have looked up to was Robert Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer played a huge significant role in our lives. Doe to his research of atomic weapons the United States has develop thousands of atomic weapons underground for special uses. He faced many challenges in the pursuit of science. He spend most of his life try to understand what E=mc^2 meant. America looks up to him because of his achievements. Internally he was stuck between a fine line, of morality and success.it was a hard choice for him. It wasn't easy, the decisions he had to make denoting the atomic bomb. His whole life was a secret and he was always fallowed. His work shows us a sense of threat, as that single bomb took hundreds of thousands of lives in an instant. He showed the world what he was made off. It left the area He left a scared the face of the plant. He had the place dead with radiation by splitting a single atom. So much destruction was caused because of an atom.  He was known all over the world. This man showed that science can always be taken to new levels, to an unimaginable extreme, but at a deadly cost. The lives those were lost that day when America dropped an atomic bomb on japan.  Its effects can be everlasting, shown to us by Oppenheimer, and the pursuit of science can sometimes go against a person morality.

I'll be researching about the 1939 World's Fair and the causes of global warming. The world is facing a crisis because of this futuristic event.    The author name is Peter deMenocal and the title is Taking the Temperature of the Planet. You can find this article in the LIB200 course packet from page 78 to 84. The article mentions that are planet temperatures are rising and what going to happen If we don't do anything about it. The article also talks about how some of our countries are seeing a big change in weather. The seasons in this countries are changing such as are winters are becoming much warmer and the summer are much cooler. It also shows a graph that you can see when the temperatures are rising. It also talks about national disasters such as the ocean level may rise because of global warming. Are ice glaciers are melting because of the drastic change of our temperature. I choose this article because it gave me a good argument tours my paper.

The author of my second source is Tim Hall and the title of this article is climate Drivers. You can also find this article in the LIB200 course packet from page 85 to 95. This article talks about how are co2 levels are rising fast for the past few years. It also mentions that are atmosphere is being destroy because of the greenhouse gases and one of the gases are co2. The Suns solar radiation is being trapped in earth because of the greenhouse gases. A graph shows that in the 1900 the greenhouse gases levels were rising drastically.  The article also mentions how people are causing co2 to be released in the air. This article has most of my information I need for my paper. It also has a lot of facts and detail on what too much co2 can do on earth.
